Though the Earth Give Way…

be_still, wallpaper4god.comQuite a week, quite a year so far actually,¬†wouldn’t you say?¬†Untoward and¬†quite incredible things are taking place in the earth,¬†in the heavens, and all around us. The nations seem to be shaking and trembling in unprecedented turmoil and stress. But did you notice,¬†God is still the same?¬†His universe stands in place. He says, “Be still and know that I am God.”

Following the news and reading and reblogging recently, I’ve been encouraged by how God brings people together and how He ‘connects the dots’… and inspires Christians to understand our times, and to not be alarmed.¬†Things today seem to be unfolding just as Jesus said¬†they would when He spoke of the signs of the end of the age.¬†We could begin to¬†analyze it all and start to feel anxious. But Jesus also said, “Let not your heart be troubled…”

God always counterbalances trouble with¬†His incomparable peace. “My peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, a peace the world cannot give you…” (John 14:27)

God promises that He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth give way…(Psalm 46:1-2)

Thank God.¬†Even in perilous times,¬†His people need never be alarmed.¬†Being a citizen of God’s Kingdom means that every single word God has spoken is Yours to take hold of and stand upon. His kingly and heavenly promises are real and are a surer foundation than any ground you could ever stand on. His goodness and strength is better¬†than money in the bank or anything any¬†earthly or ungodly power might feign to promise you.¬†God’s Word upholds life itself because He holds the very keys to life…and death. (Revelation 1:18) If you trust in God and stand on His Word, you¬†will¬†NEVER…be shaken. If you abide in God and His Word abides or lives in you, you are rendered 100% free of fear in body, mind, spirit or substance. You can shout, Alleluia!

And if you don’t know God. He’s waiting to get to know you. Dare to ask Him today to meet you right where you’re at. God will be there, because He said, “Today is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

So, do not fear for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you for I am near. I will strengthen you, I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Are You There Yet?

kjvchristianwallpapers.blogspot.comWhat if someone who loved you beyond all measure promised you ‘everything’ and that they’d always be there for you? You paid lip service, said you loved them too, yet you flatly turned them down.¬†Sad, isn’t it? It happens, not only in human relationships, but also with God.¬†Here’s a great¬†promise God gave: “Seek first My Kingdom and My righteousness and…all things…will be added to you.¬† (Matthew 6:33)¬†Think about it. Not ‘some things’, not ‘a few things’, but ‘all’. Yet, I have known people who¬†heard this promise of God and didn’t seem to get hold of it.¬† It left me wanting to¬†ask a question…

What part of seeking God first don’t¬†you get?

God’s promises are beyond awesome. They’re eternal. And¬†God isn’t a man that He should lie. (Number 23:19)¬†When we say we love God, we need to truly take Him at His word. We need to know that when He says¬†‘add’, He means ‘add’.¬†And when He says ‘all’, He means ‘all’. God’s promises are true and faithful and they always add up.¬† God’s promises aren’t like man’s promises. They’re God’s. The same God who gave us life and who said¬†He knew each one of us before we were born.¬†(Jeremiah 1:5)¬†The same God who says He holds the keys of hell and death and who¬†tells us¬†He is¬†The Beginning and The End. (Revelation 1:8)¬†God is who He says He is. God says what He means and¬†God means what He says.

God more than did His part in giving us life and His love and promises. He gave His¬†‘all’.¬†God could have decided it would¬†be a one-way relationship with us, but He didn’t. He left the door to His heart wide open. And He stands at the door of His Word knocking at our hearts, and pouring out His promises for us to believe and receive. But God isn’t interested in ‘second best’ with us. He wants our all. And¬†He wants us to seek Him ‘first’. God longs for a two-way relationship that we want as much as He does,¬†not a one-way¬†kind of ho-hum connection if and when we decide we need it…or Him.¬†God gave us all and He wants all of our hearts. No half way arrangements in this forever and always relationship with the Author of Life.

If you know you’re not¬†quite ‘there’ yet. Get there!¬†Seek God. Really seek and get to know Him. Make it a¬†concious and deliberate choice.¬†Don’t wait another minute to begin¬†believing and receiving¬†all that He has for you.

“For no matter how many promises God made, His answer is ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen’…” (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Deal with Bad News – God’s Way

crossmap.comSeems there’s way more bad news going around than good news. Bad news can scare us and it’s¬†just plain bad for us. It’s like overloading on mega-bad carbs and trans fats and then some.¬†Heart attack city. So how can we deal with all the deadly news out there? Here¬†are 3 suggestions…

1.¬†Don’t worry. (worry is¬†a trap that¬†opens doors to¬†doubt and fear,¬†and can get¬†your focus off of God.¬† 2.¬†Don’t worry. (God’s people who trust in Him¬†are promised they will¬†have no fear of bad news.¬† 3. (can I say it again?) Don’t worry .(God promises His people the help they need to overcome. And God promises to¬†work¬†all things together for¬†good in our lives no matter what bad news is going on).¬†True, we need to be in tune to what’s going on, because God wants us aware, not to scare us but to prepare us, and¬†so we can pray His heaven-sent power into¬†situations. Remember to guard your heart from allowing bad news to trouble you. Don’t be afraid. Hear God’s¬†voice in the storms.¬†Count on his¬†100%¬†care. Does God Care About Our Happiness?

wallpapers4god.com

Some people¬†are ‘foreverus optimisticus‘…They’re ‘up’,¬†positive, and¬†seem to smile for miles even¬†through life’s ups and downs. These people seem to have an inner switch that turns on happiness.¬†For others, circumstances seem to get in the way. Life may have been a series of hardships or letdowns. Tears have¬†been familiar…frustration, loss, hurt.¬†Does God know? Yes. The Bible tells us He was a ‘man of sorrows…familiar with grief…’ Does he care? Yes.¬†God’s desire has always been to bless and bring joy…and amazingly, He can bring joy out of sorrow. Joy is a gift of God.¬†It’s part of an everlasting inheritance He has for everyone who believes and hopes in Him.¬† Here’s what¬†Pastor Ravi Zacharias has to say in response to a question from a student at Columbia University…Does God Care About Our Happiness?¬†(5:51 min)

God’s promise: “Those who sow in tears, will reap with songs of joy…” Psalm 126:5

Letter from a Bully

Christian-wallpapers

There once was a king in ancient Israel whose kingdom felt¬†shakey. His armies felt broken down and weak. And the king trembled. He had just received a¬†nasty note,¬†“Give it all up. It’s useless. God can’t help you.¬†You’re going to have to serve me from now on!”¬†The tone of the letter¬†wasn’t only threatening, it bore all the markings of an ancient foe…the vilest, meanest, low-down-est, cunning-est, ugliest,¬†copy-catting-est, smart-talking-est, prideful, hateful ol’ bullies and liars of all time. That note echoed the chilling voice of the ‘father of lies’ otherwise known as the devil or Satan, ¬†whom the Bible also describes as¬†‘the god of this age’, ‘the deceiver’, ‘the serpent’ and (…who…as¬†all of God’s saints know…is already a defeated foe….but…that’s another story).

Now King Hezekiah could have given up right then and there in despair. The note’s threats sounded real and terrifying enough. And circumstances seemed to match up closely to the lies and threats. But the¬†king did what everyone¬†ought to do as soon as a bully¬†appears on the scene¬†ready to take you down.¬†Hezekiah didn’t take the bully on. Nope. He¬†got¬†alone with God. The king prayed. He¬†laid open the note before¬†the eyes of God, the maker of the heavens and the earth.¬†Then the¬†king let God take over and put the wind back in his sails.¬†God has¬†always helped those who come to him humbly in prayer believing in His greater power. And He always will.
