Small Beatitudes in Springtime

Shadow-dancing branches reflect on pavilion walkway. Chickadee’s seven a.m. serenade, wind rising in thicket of black poplars. Distant laughter of open waters. Grass peeks through old winter turf.

Noisy kabuki
theatre of crows in woods,
Spring, so full of life
