On The Other Side of Night

Rippled dunes fading

Weathered steps of faith

Replacing failed commitments

Scattered, forgotten hurts

Left to the four winds. Journeys.

In the passage of becoming

More true to life and self

Not unusually, she felt

Much freer than before

Strengthened by a kinder

Wilderness resolve

Awakened by sunlight

As Earth’s green spin cycle

Spun round and round again

Nothing could ever tug her back

To what-might-have-beens…

For now, untimely praises bloomed

Deep. And in spite of everything. She stood.

Stronger. On the other side of  night

  1. Standing stronger is always a good thing! I love this poem!

  2. Love your crisply flowing words, bubbling forth into a lovely story! You certainly have a way with prose, Susan. Always a treat to come and rest awhile. 🙂
