New Ground

Light breaking through

Unexpected as joy

Shattering stormy years

And in the distance

Rooted as a tree

Green and clear

A light changing

No more ambers

Roadblocks, sidetrips

Only a sanctuary,

An invisible door closing

Another opening wide

To get-a-ways, humble

Gentle as rain on a porch

Refreshing as grace

Free indeed

Breaking new ground

  1. Beautiful post and love the picture…

  2. Beautiful and uplifing, a song sung, a promise fulfilled. I love the thought of breaking new ground — it is when the soil has been pierced by the pick, the rake, and other agricultural implements, and softened by the rain and the many storms past, nurtured by sunlight, that it is ready for the planting. Love this, Susan!
