Night Trains

storm, picstopin.com

Twilight drifts

Tapping fingers

A child hums

Half past ten

Skies flash green

TV screen still on

Rushing rains

Drumming lullabys

Chasing the old cat

Off the window ledge

Alleyways giving up

Ghosts and dust

Earth pulling strings

Playing sleepytime tunes

City traffic slows to a sigh

As night trains run

Rumbling again

Summer storms

Settling scores

Dancing til dawn

Splashing up streets

And headed east
