Word(s) . Light . Life

No tie, an everyday guy
Sidesteps restless crowds
Avoids limbo zones and bus stops
Places where lost dreamers wait
Bent, tattered, as used umbrellas
Crumbled pavement underfoot

He passes by…

And walks in sun, scattering clouds
Savoring frappucino skies
Taking careful stock. Buying daisies.
Live-streaming, holding days close
As if holding her and happiness

He holds on…

Drenched by rain long overdue
Breathing beyond dusty bowls of streets
Tasting laughter like chocolate, sweet
Taking life as he should, real and strong
And in slow degrees, like summer

    • Thank you so much, Wendy. I’ve had my Green Light Diary chapbook of prose on the backburner for quite some time, and it was ‘Greenlightlady.wordpress.com’ which inspired me to finally begin posting excerpts on LightWriters. 🙂

  2. “Frappucino skies” is a great word picture.
