An arpeggio of reflexes
goodfon.comWheels within wheels
Spinning, turning
Uphill, fast, downwind
Shouting, laughing
Music unscored
In his gut he knew
In the morsel of time
In which he estimated
He’d deliver at least
A million parcels
Pushing limits
muscle and core
Flipping gears
Galaxies spinning
Out of pothole quasars
Droppin’ flat on terra firma
A bird leaving the nest
It was why she’d walked out

Fed up she’d said with
Never enough cash on hand
But in the greater scheme
He wondered as tires spun
If that was the whole truth
Or just her way out
Afloat with careful grace
All he knew now was wheels
Sun, rain, and sleety days
And silent, silent snow
