Word(s) . Light . Life

On the North Side

Tangled thoughts

As lake weeds

Rumpled from

In a blue moon

Throwing windows

Wide to fresh breezes

On the north side

A fresh revelation

She would rustle

And rummage

Breathless through

The attic of her soul

Unearthing boxes

& boxes of forgotten

Treasures & ribbons

Scrapbooks & memories

Worn-out fabrics & gems

Photos faded & smiling

Wondering how & why

They were here

As if waiting for now

Dusty & forsaken dreams

Hoping as a child

Eager for a journey

Of a lifetime to begin

Then one day

Tenderly released

And taught to fly

  1. We do alot of bird watching and your poem reminded me of baby birds that the parents teach to eat and fly. What a wonderful blessing God has given to us in nature. You did a great job appying these lessons from nature to the our lives as well. Its a blessing!
