Auld Stanes

O blast’d barren heath
Wair trampl’d Neolithic feet
Rown’d encircle’d o’Brodgar
Auld ring uv stanes leanin’ far
Toppled, as age’d warriors
Whisperin’ stark tales uv dust
Circl’d deep wi’ changin’ runes
Wash’d for’evr by granite storms
Approachin’ hard off icy seas
Skara Brae’s lang his’try
T’ald oos ow we lang’d tae lairn
Hearts poundin’ as drums
Winds an’ times tellin’ tales
Och, ow thae auld stanes sing!
